Npemwin Virtual Appliance

The ``npemwin virtual appliance'' (npemwinVA) is the name of a package for running npemwin in a VirtualBox VM. It used to be a separate package but we now include it in the nbspVA package so that the user can enable Nbsp or Npemwin at will in the same VM.

It is a specially configured installation of Ubuntu, together with all the packages required to run npemwin, already installed and configured. The entire npemwinVA package can run in a Windows computer as another program, with exactly the same features of the npemwin package that runs in a FreeBSD or Linux computer. Other applications such as MetarWeather and Digital Atmosphere, running on the same or a different computer, can connect to npemwin in exactly the same way as explained elsewhere in the Npemwin manual. These screenshots illustrate the setup.

The README file has the information needed to start the machine, in particular the login credentials, how the installed packages nbsp, npemwin, gempak, ldm are configured, and how to enable them.
